The first thing I did was to try to minimize the movement of the contents to limit the battering ram effect. Lips on shelves, foam draw liners, ect. Then I tried rare earth magnets. First, unless something falls on the floor, it's hard to tell if they are working because if the door opens going around one corner, the magnet pulls the door closed around the next. That said, the upper doors seem to be working with 1/2" neodymium magnets. On the silverware draw I used 4 magnets imbedded in the draw faceplate with angle iron screwed to the opening. It takes one good yank to open but stuff seems to say put. I used a large 3/4" magnet on the closet door with limited success. The door still opens on a big bump and if I use any larger a magnet I am afraid the screws are going to pull out when I open the door. So we supplement with a shock cord here. It's a work in progress for sure. Raz

I and several other Scamp owners use phlip-it rv cabinet latch on each drawer and door. They really work and hardly noticeable.

The better things in life are always more costly. Lee Valley carries a couple types of Push Button Latches like this. No cheaper though.

Push-Button Latches - Lee Valley Tools
Push Knobs with Latch - Lee Valley Tools

These latches have a very classy look and feel about them. It is in the back of my mind to redo mine at some point. Too many other things to do first though.

Wow, spendy! I'd look to one of the Commercial Members here on FiberglassRV.... Latches, Knobs and Bezels Looking at Larry's posted PDF, has same colors and about 1/4 the cost!

That kinda looks like only replacement parts, not the whole push knob assembly. I could be reading it wrong though.

I had searched a lot, and found prices no lower than $12, and some up near $30. The cheaper ones all have plastic bodies and mechanisms, some of them even have plated plastic knobs, while some of the pricier ones have metal mechanisms, which would likely never need replacing.

Cabinet Strut

My Bigfoot cabinet doors come with cabinet struts that both hold the door open and hold it closed. I'm not sure they will work in your application but I have never had a cabinet door open while under way.
