I put every thing I thought I would need in my
Truck and camper, after a few trips I started taking out the things I never used and I aded some thing I did. There is going to be things you don't need that others or do. So I found it best to come up with my own list this way. Be leave me I started with WAY to much stuff.
Hope this helps.
Jason

Kevin,
I think you would need an 18 wheeler to carry all of your supplies! That is a lot of stuff for a person that is just going camping!
Thanks,

I just changed the permissions.
I didn't know it would be PRIVATE AND TOP SECRET!
it doesn't even list my underwear, so I think it'll be safe to let the public view it.

Actually, if you sit down and list all the stuff you take with you camping, you'd be surprised how long that list will be.
And, if you add canoeing / and or fishing, it gets even longer.

What I use is a master list with everything I might possibly want to take under various circumstances, as well as a bit of pre-trip planning.

The list is on excel, and I just delete all that is not pertinent to the trip, then print. I then close the file without saving.

I bet my list is even longer than Kevin's is. Most things get crossed off very quickly, as they already are in the trailer, the rest is at hand to quickly add.

Oh, and I keep a couple backups of the file should I bugger it up somehow.

I used one list for "supplies" things that have to be replaced such as bug spray or coleman fuel. If going through the check list I find I don't have some items that list just goes with me to the store.

Different page for equipment, such as axe or campstove. I also had different lists for different types of camping because the equipment for backpacking was different than canoe camping, tenting out of the car, or taking the motor home. I am not going to put an axe in my backpack! But I do want to make sure I have the backpacking stove and mess kit.

I had a lot of free time that winter. I actually arranged the list in the order things were stored in the motorhome. Could walk around it pulling the items on that list out. Or confirming that the item or supply was on hand if we were using the motorhome.

Had a section for Optional items with sub items. Going to take the boat, life jackets, paddles, motor & fuel container, and emergency kit would be sub items. Same for fishing and kids stuff. Bringing the big raft for the lake and forgetting the air pump is not something one wants to do more than once.

I used a word document with checkbox style bullet points, but can see Excel type worksheet being good also. Especially since OpenOffice is free software to do either one.

I keep a Camping List on my Blog, that way I can share it and I always know where to find it. I have identified what I keep in the trailer and what is a "consumable" and needs to be checked or packed each outing.
You can find it here, the section expand so just click away
