Great pic's!

Those doors don't look like aftermarket. I agree they look like orignal.

does it have a title? Any info on the title? Looks like it's in great shape!

Have you looked for info in the closet? Some older brands were notorious for having vin/info in the closet..................

As it has BC plates on it, its registered and titled which the seller would have to have in order to sell it. Pretty good bet that as the seller says its a Trillium that's how its registered/titled otherwise they would have a fair bit of explaining to do to the purchaser when they sign it over.

As its located in BC, home of lots of Trillum's and it looks a lot like the other cargo Trillium that was for sale and the seller says its a Trillium, if I was the betting type my money would be on it being a Trillium ;-))

That was funny about the toy hauler!
I looked in the closets but no info.
The dealer didn't have the registration papers (title) the owner does but it does have BC plates from 2010.
Dealer conveyed he thought the owner has it priced too high and that he would rather not have it there was the impression we got.

No surprise the dealer doesnt hold the registration papers - if I had a car or trailer on consignment I wouldnt leave the original registration papers with the dealer either until they had a solid offer - as you know all it would take a one fake signature and the trailer changes ownership.

I saw one just like this for sale at the Barrie Automotive flea market a few years ago. The seller confirmed it was a rare factory Trillium model. And like someone else said ahead of its time as a toy (ie motorcycle) hauler.

The' Sportsman' by Trillium

What you are looking at is the Trillium Sportsman. It is the 15ft model with a recessed door & screendoor like the 5500 model. The cargo doors were added to allow for access for sport toys. A hole in the floor was also available for ice fishing. The model we saw was stripped except for beams along the wall so you could build to your own specs. I will try to post the brochure we got at the Markham factory in the 70s. This particular model could have been customer customized at the factory. Tom Young at Trillium RV.com might know for sure.

Thanks everyone, esp Dennis that info is so interesting.
Is it possible to see inside the brochure which it sounds like you actually got from the factory in the 70's - amazing?
That is so interesting, if the guy would go down on his price I think I would buy it just based on it's rareness!
This one didn't have the screen door but as I said previously I am not sure the side door was original and the door lock didn't look it so maybe a replacement. Funny you should say like the 5500 as I was just browsing an ad for one of those and thought that is the same type of inset door.

That's OK, I'm still young enough to turn my head sideways to see.

Nice find Dennis, thanks for enlightening us. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the brochure.

If its axle etc are in good shape and its as clean and as good shape in the inside as it looks in the photos I think he would have little trouble getting that price for it if he brought it down to the lower mainland.

Edit: BTW what town and dealer is it at? I may know of someone interested.

Carol - it's in Creston in the Kootenays at Creston Auto and RV #250-428-5415. I agree it probably would have sold in the lower mainland. No one here would really even know it was for sale as it's stuck in the back with no sign on it. They didn't even come out with us to see it or show any interest at all.
It isn't in bad shape, needs some minor fiberglass repairs. They said it had a newer axle but that wasn't apparent on initial inspection! It did look like it had spacers added to raise it but we didn't look closely as we don't need another trailer unless it'a steal. You would probably need to add some type of insulation. The cupboards etc are all homemade but someone obviously put a lot of time and effort into it.
