Can you identify this lock? - Boler 13'

My Boler needs the lock replacing and I've found what I thought was the right one online - Bergamn L 400. However, the dimension are off. The one on my camper measures 5 1/2" x 2 3/4" but the details on the L 400 say that it measures 6 7/8" X 2 3/4". So what do I have?

the locks are relatively easy to remove from the door, I just put mine back in yesterday after painting my boler. I am certain the casing inside the door is stamped. I know for sure mine said the brand name Bargman on it and I am convinces it said 400 on it too. Might be worth the time to remove it and have a look. It was stamped/cast into one of the long sides.

It looks like a Bargman L400 and L300 combined.

It does not look to me to be an Bargman L400 either - I thought that the L400 does not have a straight edge on the hinged handle.

Here is a picture of an L400:

Not wide enough for an L 400

It's definitely not wide enough to be the L 400 and it's the wrong way round and not square enough to be an L 300. It could be a combination of both which is just odd!

I'll look at it more closely tonight and see if the paperwork says anything... :-) I just picked it up and dropped it straight off to have the gas/elect/wheels etc serviced so haven't had chance to really look at it yet.

I'll let you know what I find out !

That lockset is no longer available new. I'd restore or rebuild it if possible. Here's a thread from some time ago discussing it:

Talking Door lock

I do not have my 84 Burro handy, but that one in your picture sure looks like the lock on my 82Burro.If you cannot use the lock and it's functional, I would purchase from you 425-922-0170
Thank You

OP is now looking in the parts forum for a Lyster door latch. My friend Brian B-P has also identified this as a Lyster latch.

Thanks Greg & David,

I'm not sure how disfunctional it is at present - I'm going to have a locksmith see what they can do as a next effort.... if that fails and I have to replace it I'll happily send you what I have so you can see what you can do with it.

Thanks for the confirmation from your friend David - does Brian B-P know fo any spare parts for one? :-)

Unfortunately, no parts are made for either these, or Bargman L300 or L400 latches. No market.

I'm kind of surprised no ones used one of those 3D printers for replacement parts.
