I'm looking for a new water tank for the 17 ft. Boler and was pointed towards this outfit in Lacombe, Alberta.

http://www.dmplastics.ca/company.htm

I checked their list of products and came across tank # RFW 1513 that is identical in profile to the one I removed. The pdf shows their tank which is slightly larger at 88 litres instead of 77 litres.

The photo is of the existing tank.

DM Plastics has the original molds for this tank. They may also have the mold for the graywater tank as well

Tank Pricing

Our tank model #RFW1513 with female pipe thread bushings, hose barb adapters, filter screen, and drain cock; $148.69 our dock, plus GST.

We have one tank stock and will build more during this week.

Thanks.

I ordered the same unit from DM and just received it last Friday. It's identical to the one I pulled out so either the old one is 88L or the new one is 77L. Either way it fits perfectly.

Kevin,
I watched your tank removal video on You Tube. It looks like a repair was done on the low end around the drain. Mine had similar damage/repair done to it. I also noticed when I removed it even though the drain valve was open there was still 1-2 litres of water inside. I can't see how that little of water freezing could damage the tank but after seeing yours I'm starting to wonder. Of course another explanation is both tanks were left filled and allowed to freeze. I'm thinking of adding a 1/2" female fitting on the underside with a plug to fully drain it in the fall.

What do you think?

Tim

When draining my tank I jack my trailer up on the side opposite the drain to ensure that as much water as possible gets out.

I also jack the trailer when filling the tank to make sure all the air gets out.

Tim,

I'd probably go with Mike's idea of jacking the trailer. However using a plug as you suggest, that sits flush as opposed to a drain cock which sticks out and could be easily snapped off by road debris would probably do the trick

black water tank 17 foot 1979 Boler

Anyone know if they have the black water tank too? If so, do you know the part number? I figure for that price I would swipe both out. thanks for the info!
