The flexible trap under my Casita wears out really fast. I've gone through two of them in the year I've owned the trailer. I don't know why it wears out, but it does.

The last time I ordered one, I walked into the shop with the old trap and they used it to order me a new one. I should have bought two or three, but I didn't.

At any rate, I'm trying to order one by phone and I don't know the specs.

Any of you folk know the part number (it's generic) or the diameter, etc?

I found the trap as a standard item at my local ACE hardware store. The quality was a lot better too. I have not had to replace mine since I replaced with the gray ACE hardware one (two years).

Possibly it's wearing out because it's hitting stuf, which is why I think Casita changed from the PVC trap to the flexible one (it's kinda close to the ground).

On the first Casita 13' with the trap that I had ever seen, the owner had installed C-clamps on the frame ahead of the PVC trap to protect it -- Shortly thereafter, I saw a second C13 with the flexible trap, so I told the first owner about it.

I tried several hardware stores in this area when the first one wore out, but no one had the flexible type and I was going to use a plastic one, but couldn't find one that fit. I had to resort to an RV dealer to get the one that worked.

Mine keep wearing out due to to the fact that they basically just rot. The material degrades rather quickly and literally crumbles. Last year, I used the trailer a lot in winter, so I suppose it's possible I got some road salt on it that caused rapid deterioration of the rubber material. Not sure. But for some reason the stuff "rots" after a very short time. We do wash dishes in our Casita sink, but I find it hard to believe mild soaps would cause the trap to break apart the way it does.

My black one from Casita also rotted. My new one from ACE hardware is gray and has held up well. Maybe I can get a part number for you to ask your ACE to order.
