Hi!
On my trailer, it was still the original 1 stage regulator that was installed.
On the recommandation of the trailer store owner, I changed it for a new one, a two stage, much safer. He told me that in case of faillure, the one stage regulator would bring high pressure gas inside the trailer wich would be dangerous. In case of faillure of the 2 stage regulator, the high pressure gaz would leak outside the trailer, through a built-in vent.
It was an easy job. Basically just removing the old one, changing the brakets and fittings to the new one, installing it on the trailer and checking for
leaks with soapy water. Half an hour max. By regulation, the vent must point down and the regulator must be protected by a cover that is
sold separately.
My favorite trailer store owner also recommend to change the regulator every 5 years.
Is it just in my head, but I would swear that the flames of my stove burners are nicer now. If it could only fix the problem with my
refrigerator. I have a UNsucces rate of 100% with it. Every time I drive with gaz on, the flame will blow off. While camping, it is working fine (on gaz).
