CO/LP detector hum

Hi there,

Just installed a CO/LP detector. Works great, but there's an electric hum that's just killing me. Any ideas what it might be? I've got a 24V deep cycle battery hooked up to my Scamp--would switching to a 12V help? Or maybe it's a problem with the grounding?

There are known issues with certain brands and models having this problem. The model that was/is used on the Escape has had some postings. Not all people and not all units are affected.

It might help if you provide more specific information on the product you have.

We use the Safety Alert CO/LP detector in the Escape. We have recently had a batch that have a faint, but annoying high pitch squeal. After talking with the manufacturer, they do squeal, however you should only hear this within an arms length of the detector. The problem units we had, as soon as you enter the unit, you would notice the squeal. They are aware of the problem and will replace the unit.
