We are researching the purchase of our first 13-foot
fiberglass RV, and had been leaning toward a new
Scamp over a new
Casita based mostly on the claimed extra five inches of interior height. The
Scamp 13 has interior height specifications of 6'3". However, when we went inside a 2001
Scamp 13 available locally, my head was touching the ceiling, and I am only 5'8". Something seems quite wrong here. Are the new Scamp 13's taller inside? Or, do you have to stand with your head sticking out of the skylight to get the claimed 6'3" interior? Can someone tell us the actual interior headroom on your Scamp 13? Does anyone have an explanation? And, for comparison, what is the true interior height of a
Casita 13? Also, does this apparent discrepancy between claimed and actual interior height hold true for the 16 and 17 models? My apologies for so many questions, but I would guess other folks have been, ahem, scratching their heads, too. Thanks.
