Contacted Scamp?????

I contacted scamp and they said their top bunk will hold 250lbs. This is not what I have heard from other owners. Anyone, have more info on this?

They may have made a change. I know a lot of manufacturers had very low weights, like 100 lbs. or less and sadly, with the obesity problem in the US, not a lot of even younger kids are that light and gee by 12 years old, I wasn't either! I contacted Parkliner last week about what their bunk will hold and they said 250 lbs. also (25 x 80). I cannot tell you how many used units over the years with bunks that we have seen where the top one had ripped loose from the wall. Hopefully, all manufacturers will "beef" up the bunks!

Never saw one which had failed, and I know several adults who use them regularly. I suspect it would not be well received if I were to call and ask about their weights!

I just wouldn't want to be the person on the bottom if some 250# person fell, bunk and ALL. Could really ruin a camping trip.
