Convert landing gear to electric on Scamp 5er

Okay it's that time of year where I need to get my projects done on the 5er that I bought last summer. I travel a lot in my camper thus I hookup and unhook almost every single night during the summer. With the current hand crank system this takes quite a toll on my shoulder. One of the main projects I want to do is convert the hand crank to an electric system. Is there a better system out there that I haven't heard about? What are you guys using, where did you get it, and what modifications did you have to do to make a nice system. Also about what am I looking at for a price.
I appreciate all the advice I can get, thank you in advance
Steve

I made a device that I chuck up to a battery powered drill and insert it then stand there and run the drill. Just about the easiest thing in the world to do.

What ever you do, don't cut up your crank because when you forget to charge the drill battery you will need the hand crank.

LOL!! That sounds good but I'm trying to downsize a bit and not carry so many tools.
I've looked at some systems online but they get into reduction gear boxes and such. While I know you can't run at high speed I'm wondering if you can just hook up a 12v low speed, high torque motor.

Steve, I put one of these on our present camper. There is a good chance that it would bolt right up to your landing gear. B 4 I would order one, I would look to see if it would connect and/or call Scamp to see if it is possible.

The Draw Back: It costs to downsize. The drill takes up very little room.

Thanks Darwin, that looks just like what I have been seeing on ebay (one for $69 and one for $89) but they have a disclamer that you need a reduction gear box. I'm wondering if since it is currently a hand crank it is already reduced?

I agree with Steve- is there an indexed archive of all these topics? They will all come up again sooner or later...
