I did cork and love it. Easy to clean, soft and warm on the feet. Details in the http://http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f56/new-cork-floor-50001.html

I'm considering replacing the old shaggy carpet of our 1984 16ft casita with a light color cork (the roll type not the tiles or plank) since it act as a phonic insulation and thermal I thought if would be a "all in one" type of covering but I am no professional and would appreciate any insight. Thanks!

it should receive little physical contact and remain stable over time… I'd like to research this more as i haven't heard of it… I wonder from your description how it attaches… I'm assuming its a glue down product… I'm not a fan of the carpeted walls, aesthetically or due to holding dust and dirt… but the curvature nature of our fiberglass eggs presents an obstacle for installation beyond fabrics...

Judson, don't worry too much about carpeted (or Rat Fur) walls holding dust/dirt. It's like anything, if you keep it clean (vacuum) it's so small... not a problem. You have carpets, drapery and upholstery in your sticks 'n bricks home.. right?

Why do they call it 'upholstery' anyway? It's not a holster, and it's not UP.

Comes from an old English word upholder meaning a trademan who holds up his goods.

Mike the term upholder I found on the internet and just out of curiosity I did some more research this morning and according to websters 1913 dictionary it was still used then for a tradesman also an undertaker or anyone who upholds or defends something or someone and also was used as another term for upholsterer therefore another tie in to the word upholstery.

Back to the topic of the thread I would love to put cork floor in ourEscape and perhaps will some day.

Adrian

I'm still working on taking the carpet glue off the fiberglass .
The cork company I found is called Globus cork. You should check their wen site they have it for the floor and for the walls so I guess it come as tiles or "clip" plank.

These are the samples I got. It is bleach cork, I will use the top left one everywhere and the ceiling will have a stipe of the top right one to give an illusion of height in the casita.
