Difference Between Drinking Water and Waste Tanks?

I have removed all the holding tanks from the Boler and I am in the process of ordering new ones. What is the difference between a drinking water tank and a black/grey tank? Can I use a drinking water tank for waste/grey water? If so, that would give us more options for size and shape. They are listed separately on all the web sites I have looked at. Thanks.

A dedicated graywater tank generally has a large drain hole which uses a bayonet valve to drain it. If you are only draining a sink then you may not need one that large and could use something like a garden hose, then a freshwater tank could be used or even some other container made for fuel or to hand carry liquids.
Freshwater tanks are made from FDA approved polyetheylene approved for potable drinking water storage, graywater tanks are not, so you may not wish to use a graywater tank or other tank for fresh water.

Floyd is right on.

The drinking water tank may be a little more expensive than the grey tank.
Personally, I don't think it would matter using a garden hose size of drain as there are no Solids going through it.

I would use whatever fits the best for the grey tank according to my budget.

You can use a drinking water tank as a waste water tank, but not a waste water tank for a drinking water tank. Made from different types of "plastics."

There are tank manufacturers in the States that will custom build a tank to your specific size and requirements. You are not obligated to buy "off the shelf."

water tanks, plastic tanks, septic tanks

Water Tanks, Plastic Tanks, RV Tanks, Custom Plastic Tanks
