Do any of you know what they have on these walls?
I like the look of these walls, but what is it? My camper has grey carpeting but this is so much brighter. I put a message on the photo, but they I saw that Dawnette hasn't been on since August.

Looks like quilted vinyl that can be purchased at an upholster supply or shop.

I agree with David but I think it's origninal to that trailer. Could be wrong, but looks like it might be. I would think you should be able to find something simular due to all the retro fabric's out there now days. Good luck, let us know if you find it. It is nice looking.

Well, I did some online searching. I found some cheap, not so great looking quilted vinyl for 20.00 a yard not including shipping, I found some OK looking quilted vinyl for 35.00 a yard not including shipping and some great looking quilted vinyl with a contact us for prices webpage. I think the grey carpet will be staying for a while...LOL It sure looks good though.

Vinyl
This place seems to have a good selection at reasonable prices:

It's more than just vinyl. It's actually ensolite with a patterned vinyl coating. The vinyl has been glued to the ensolite. Just like "elephant skin" only with a pattern. The same stuff was used in the Minit brand of molded trailers.
From what I understand, the original stuff isn't available. If you like it, clean, repair and maybe paint it, because you won't be able to replace it.

I have that material in a Compact jr. I thought it was just vinyl. I need to go and check it out.

RE: Wall covering.
Eddie is correct, that is stock wall covering in most Compact-I's and Compact-II's. It must have been quality stuff becasue the walls in my 73 and in a friends 72 are stil intact and in good condition.

But it is glued to the ensolite, right I don't want to be steering anyone wrong...
Diamond pattern is/was popular with the hot rod crowd! I've seen plenty of door panels with this vinyl pattern.

RE: Wall Covering
Yep, it feels like there is a foam barrier behind it but, until I pull out the windows I won't be able to get a closer look. But, has ensolite been around for 40 years???

Vinyl
Like Toms' our 74 Compact II has the original diamond stitched vinyl on a yellow open cell foam glued to the fiberglass. No ensolite Donna. I'll show you in a month at the NOG if the beach is still there with all this rain. Keith

I'm just so surprised any manufacturer would use an open cell foam... talk about a sponge! BUT, if the owner is judicious about maintenance and leaks I don't suppose it would be a major problem/concern.
The day isn't a waste... I learned something new. Thanks Tom and Keith!!
