Does wall covering go on top of or BEHIND lip of benches, etc.??

When I got my Perris Pacer, the wall covering was extended OVER and glued to the 1 inch (approx.) lip on the benches, cabinets, etc. (see pic). But I was looking at a picture on here, and noticed the wall covering was tucked behind that lip.

What is the correct way?

Thanks!

i personally would tuck behind benches, cabinets , think it would look better and depends on wall covering then you would have to trim or edge it with something

On the Scamps they put the wall covering on before installing the cabinets so its always behind.

Scamp, which is similar installs the lining before the furniture.

Hmmm--the Pacer furniture is glassed in, which may be why they put the wall covering on over the lip. I looked up Robert Johans Perris redo, and see that he did cover the lip, and like Tom pointed out---Robert did edge it. It looks great (and more work!) I'd put it behind, but I didn't "prep" the lip as well as I could---before painting---thinking I was just going to cover it up.

What to do, what to do?? Hmmmmmm

If your stuff is glassed in then I guess it must go over instead of under.
