Dometic 211 Door lock

The little door lock on our Dometic 211 fridge is broken and missing. I haven't had any luck finding a replacement part. Has this happened to anyone else and if so, were you able to find a spare or fix it yourself?

If you've got all the pieces, try fixing it with JB Weld. Someone mentioned using an "L" shaped piece of plastic that was drilled for the holding screw.

Go here. (Fiberglassrv document center). Find the part number, then call (800)544-4881 to find out where one can be purchased.

Kylie, we had trouble with the little locking pin on top working its way up and allowing the frig door to open while we were on the road Finally put a child proof lock (looks like a nylon ladder and a two finger latch/release ) on the top frame and the door. Works like a charm

A 10-24 1" Stainless bolt fits ours perfectly and never had it come open enroute.

Hi: I managed to get the orange coloured part for the top of the fridge door from our local R.V. Appliance specialist Gammons R.V. I think they charged me $1.00 as it was a used part. They are located in St.Thomas Ont. and they have a web add. Gammonsrv.com I also broke the temp selector knob for the fridge and got a replacement from them for a couple of bucks. Maybe they could mail one to you.
