I just returned from an 1100 mile 4 day trip to Dayton and back and had my Dometic
Fridge act up. It's an RM2607 freezer/fridge 3way unit that is original but in good looking shape.
While on down there, on AC power, the
light on the 'eyebrow' (Indicator paned above freezer) would occasionally go to Gas for no reason, and still be working on AC. After reset, it usually worked OK for a while, then did the same again. Then the Check
light would sometimes come on!
I checked my documentation from previous owners and saw that $250 was charged in early 2000 to 'replace the circuit board and adjust'! I checked the circuit board (It had been worked on - screws wrong - cracked outer cover) and reseated all the plugs and connections. It still failed several times!
After doing a bunch of Internet searching, I found that many of the original Dometic
fridge boards of this 2nd generation series of models seem to have this repeating problem! Replacing with a new Dometic board doesn't always help!
However, a 2nd source, Dinosaur, makes a p-711 micro board that is supposed to cure these 'intermittant' problems and improve performance.
Several places sell them, but I was able to order one online for $117 shipped to Canada.
We'll see if this solves the problem.
I hope!
