Dometic RM 181, what is a reasonable resale price.

Hi there,

My husband and I have just purchased a '73 13ft Boler and are working to restore it. We are looking at buying a used fridge (ours was replaced long ago by the previous and very rusty, old and loud). Someone on FGRV suggested a Westy Dometic fridge. We have located one, a Dometic RM 181 (hopefully in good condition) and now are working out a price, can anyone suggest to us a reasonable price for an older model fridge such as this?

Also if anyone has a fridge in good working condition that they are looking to sell, in our area, please email me; wandering.wind@hotmail.com. We are hoping to spend max $200 for an older 3 way fridge.

Lindsey + Matt, I couldn't even begin to tell you what something this old would be worth. Others may be more helpful. Questions to ask are like, has it needed any repairs? When? Does it work poor/good/excellent on all three powers? Frankly, I wouldn't waste my money if the frig is over 15 years old. To me there's a big difference between something already installed and purchasing something to install as far as "worth."

Thanks Donna! Those are helpful questions which I wouldn't have thought to ask, all I have asked for is pictures and age. I can't find much info on this fridge on the internet! We are considering possibly just replacing the old fridge with an icebox too, unless this fridge looks to be okay or we find another within our price range. Thanks again
