This is what I used:

The door shuts pretty tight now, but I'm fine with that. No light shows through (except at the bottom, haven't messed with that mess, yet.

Maybe put a rivet or two in the flat part if it starts wandering.

It's been on for 3 months, and I've probably used the door at least 3-4 times a day, so far, so good. I think the bulb lets it fold over a bit on the forward side, rather than just ripping it loose.

Francesca, that looks like an exact match. Great detective work! Now we all have a number that works.

I tried the Metro Molding from Auto Zone as sugested by Francesca. Unfortunately a box only contains 13 feet when you need 14 feet. Cost $29.95 for 13 feet.

It turns out that to lock the door I had to space the inside portion of the lock about a 1/4 of an inch off it's original position. Did anyone else find this to be necessary?

Tommorow I'll measure the diameter of the seal to see if it matches with David's.

It was extremely easy to remove the standard black trim and just as easy to install the new trim.

I will say the seal is far superior.

It's available in a variety of lengths as it's offered/sized for specific cars. I just posted the first one I came across.

I think that the manufacturer's website is this link. One can probably get it in any length- or at least ask for "rear double door seal for econoline van" etc. to get a longer piece!

Hey, Steve!

Are you looking for the Scamp or the Trillium?

I ask because Trillium Tom sells the doorseal specific to Trilliums...see "doorway bulbseal" at this link.

My primary concern was not the length but rather having to move the latch. It makes me wonder about the diameter of the collapsible section.

I bought some bulb trim from
trim from randpcarriages | eBay

This is the one I used on my 85 scamp:
Trim Lok Lock Seal 1 8" x 5 8" Bulb A Side Door Rubber | eBay

1/8" was a little tight I think 1/4" would have worked better.

Whatever weatherstrip you select, be sure it is very soft, as the firm will be impossible to compress and warp the ends of the door outwardly. The hollow section stuff should be desirable. Most of the sponge ones sold at Builders stores are too firm. A 14' long piece would probably support several hundred pounds!

I've completed my door seal. It seals great. The part that compresses on our molding is a little less than 7/8ths of an inch in diameter. I think a smaller diameter might be better but regardless the seal is great.

I had to cut a piece to off another 13' roll to complete te job The part that slips over the edge of the door contains steel staples about every quarter inch, These staples are about an 1'8th of an inch wide and provide structure to the ribbing.

The previous, factory standard black trim was held on with two rivets. So far the grip seems adequate without the addition of any rivets or adhesive.

It is a little harder to close but is really closed to the elements.

The molding at the bottom of the door hit upon nothing so I added a wooden strip below the door sill, screwed nto the bottom of the floor. This provides a great bottom seal.

Thanks Dave and Francesca for your solution and sourcing.

Scamp. How big is the diameter of the door on a 19'?

I would guess Scamp only has one size door, calling them will give the answer. As close as I can measure it looks like I used 14'6"

Been reading this thread with interest as I need a new door seal. I've looked at lots of links and see different stuff. Can you please specify where you ordered from and possibly the part number??
Thanks much,

Jane D.

I ordered from the ebay link in message #50. It is supposed to be here by Thursday. It was 15 feet and $30 including the shipping. The poster stated that he would have preferred the clamp part to be a bit wider than 1/8 so I ordered the same product with 3/16 wide griping side.
