Door Gasket?
I took the old flat foam door gasket off my Scamp and I'm hesitant to put a similar gasket back on. It's an older Scamp and I still need to adjust/fix the door but when that is fixed is there a better product for this purpose? What are some of the alternate gaskets people have used to get a nice seal?

Steve, I am looking at replacing mine as well but I know that Escape uses something different that a few folks with Scamps have used and they say works much better. Sorry I dont have the details on what product its is (I seem to recall it goes around the edge of the fiberglass?). Hopefully someone who has done it will pipe up and give the product details.

Steve, Search on David B. or sent him a PM. He has a beautiful solution available from a parts store in Apache Junction.

Any product info other than "T-2", David?
I'm not having any luck searching that term alone...
Thanks!
Francesca

I have searched high and low too as I want that gasket material. Mine was just a basic white wrap around gasket that I had to chuck. I did find this neat site with every gasket size and shape under the sun but if the T2 does it thats great. The website really doesnt show any inventory and I wouldnt know which one to order anyway.

Sorry, but that's what they call it(maybe search for T2) You could call them direct at (480) 835-0971
I initially used it just around the outside of the door itself, but when in the dark and having my wife shine a flash light around the closed door, I noticed light in certain spots. I applied the same T2 around only part of the door opening so as not to have the two interfere with one another.

What does it look like uninstalled? How about a profile shot? How is it installed? Is it just round rubber or does it clip on somehow?
Looks interesting
Thanks

If by "profile shot" Steve means a view of the cut end of the molding itself, I second the request- got a scrap?
And does it fit over the edge of the door so it shows as a black border from the outside?
Thanks!
Francesca

Steve, Just pull off the original Scamp door trim and replace with the T2. I did have to use a putty knife to get the "rat fur" under the trim in some places. I also glued a 90 degree plastic elbow inside where the two ends met at the bottom of the door. No glue was needed anyplace else, but could be used if it moves around for you.

Nice, perfect pictures, just what I needed. I think it will work. I've seen this before on-line and it sells in 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5.8, etc. (tube size). Do you happen to know what size yours is?

Steve, I used 3/4". What was the name of this "T2" on-line, and what is the on-line link?

I'll have to find it again. At the time I thought it was interesting but without knowing someone who had tried it and the correct size I didn't want to chance it.

Dave on your picture I am assuming that the bottom trim U shaped was the old gasket and of course the new one I understand. Just didn't know if both were new and you needed both flavors shown in your picture. This is good and will work for me. I can tell from the inside door on mine that there was a water ingress issue.
thanks mucho

Note multiple pages. Once you have the part number, you can search for shorter lengths on eBay, etc.

If you are looking for a door seal, why not go to a wrecking yard and dig around in the u-pick are. I bet you can find what you are looking for.
