Since you have Scamp 13 your 5000 BTU unit should be plenty.

My Scamp 16 will benefit from a 6000 BTU unit than yours would......plus we are family of 4, including my 2 boys that at times have fits of door way hangoutitis.

Then again we like to dry amp anyways. AC will be for beach trips to a "resort" style campground my in-laws belong to, as well the occasional state park.

I'm curious if there is any difference in the actually cooling of our units, or that's just spec rating differences given the physical similarities. But I think Frigidaire makes a 6000 BTU unit too, so perhaps yours is a closer match to that one.

That thought had crossed my mind. I know that in the world of audio amplifiers output ratings are very often embellished and less than honest.
I would hope that the same marketing gimmicks wouldn't be used in the AC industry.
I'll will be ticked if it isn't enough to keep the Scamp cool enough. As we are downsizing from a 24' stick built who's AC will freeze you out of there on 100deg if you let it.
