I just placed the battery for my 13ft Boler onto the tongue of the trailer and thanks to all the help from others I got it the new 7 pin connector wired.
Today I was finishing up wirering up the female or trailer side and looked like to me that all I was doing was hooking up the 2 positive and 2 negative wires from the TV battery to the trailer battery then continuing the wire from the posts of the trailer battery on into the trailer.
PLEASE TELL ME THIS IS RIGHT!
I have heard that hook-ups like this is call hooking them up in series but I always thought this was done by hooking the Pos. of one battery to the Neg. of the other battery.
Did I hear wrong?
Did I do it right.

Connecting positive TV battery to positive trailer battery and negative TV battery to negative trailer battery is called connecting in parallel. In the case of charging your trailer battery that correct.

If you were to connect the positive of the TV battery to the negative of the trailer battery and the positive of the trailer to the negative of the TV you kill both batteries and probably burn up wire unless there was a fuse in one of those lines.

You're right about the negative of one battery to positive of another being a series connection. Most flashlights the batteries are in series.

Series connections are used to increase the voltage output. Parallel connections are used to increase the current abilities.

I know, that's clear as mud.

Today I was finishing up wirering up the female or trailer side

The female side remains on the tow vehicle and the item that plugs into the female side is on the trailer.

The femail side has a spring loaded cover on it and the male side has no cover.

If you wired 2 12 volt batteries in searies, you would have 24 volt.

Be sure to put an inline fuse from your trailer battery to the trailer.

The other wires in the 7 pin connector are the:
running lights
brake lights
turn signals
electric brake
hot battery wire
ground
and back-up or accessory wire

Thanks for the answer to the question. I tend to overthink things while I'm just sitting around.
I have the right female and male ends on the vehicles but I was looking at the pins and not the whole plug.
Now I can feel at ease knowing the differance between series and perallel hook-ups.
