Egg Camper roof

I was applying Red Maxx Pro and saw some strange things on my roof. First off is the dreaded silicone around the roof vent. I'm going to wait until I have problems before attempting to remove all the gunk.

But while there I saw a dry patch about the size of a basketball where it looked like the trailer has acne. I applied Red Maxx but I'm concerned if it will help. Has any one else seen this type of blemish? Is it the gelcoat that is gone?

I have 2 of those spots on my roof. I think it is where they lifted the halves during manufacture.

Jim, you may want to contact the EggCamper manufacturer and find out what kind of sealant was used. It's possible it's NOT silicone and that may help alleviate your concerns. But then again, maybe it is...

This was an aftermarket install by the original owners, Jim only installs two of the little one speed fans. I'm almost sure it is silicone- "if it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then..........."

Jim,
I have noticed a couple of rough patches on the roof of my EggCamper. I don't know what the roughness is from, but they were there since I bought it new. They are mostly noticeable while washing it or applying wax and you feel the roughness with your hand. I figured that maybe the roof just didn't get the attention to detail that the sides got and the finish isn't as smoothly applied up there. ???

Ray,
See my reply under the Poliglow thread re: conversation with Jim Palmer and the Egg Camper. By he way I ordered the Yellow bimini yesterday from Jim and will document the install next week.
