electric

Hello Everyone: I have a U Haul 13 CT, I'm just getting into it. My wiring looke like a upturned bowl of spaghetti. Two batteries with an original looking converter between. Does anyone know if my 12v interior items and my running lights are part of the same wiring or might they be separate? I don't want to mess with my running lights in the event I have to move it for some professional help. I have mixed thoughts about going all 110 and eliminating the batteries and such. Whatever, It needs elec help. Any thoughts would be appreciated. h.mike thanks.

Hi, Mike

It's hard to say, given that it sounds like your wiring has been seriously messed with!
But ordinarily, interior lights are on their own wires, separate from running lights.
You might take a look at the wiring diagrams in the document center here to get an idea of how trailers were typically wired back in the day.
Here's a link to the Scamp diagram:Fiberglass RV - Document Center - WiringDiagram_Scamp

Hope this helps!

Francesca

The service manual for the 13 CT is available in the document center (see left sidebar). According to the manual the running lights and trailer interior wiring are separate.

The running lights including tail lights, turn signals, brake lights, brakes, backup lights are NOT, or shouldn't be, part of the interior lights. porch light and any other appliances such as a fan.

The running lights, etc. are powered from the tow vehicle.
