really interesting stuff. mold and mildew resistant. if you end up using it let me know ill be in the market to do the same in a couple years. Questions would be can you put contact cement on it and can you paint it? Otherwise good price for the amount of product.

one review on the home depot web site did mention that it rips easily.

It's not a question of if it's when. Lol it has a sticky back on it.

that kind of looks like its aimed at the car stereo sound damping market, as a replacement for the ridiculously expensive Dynamat.

You might consider using the EVA foam yoga/gym mats. EVA foam is closed cell, it does not take up water. The mats are pretty tough, made to withstand some foot traffic on them. Not constant foot traffic but they don't tear that easily. The mats come in 1/8" or 1/4" thickness and come in a variety of colors. You can get it to conform to curves and even a gentle compound curve. EVA foam is a good insulator and it also helps deaden sound as well. It does not grow mold.

The interlocking floor mats people are fond of using for flooring in their trailers are also made of EVA foam but those mats are thicker than the exercise mats. But that would certainly be acceptable to put on the under-cabinet walls as it will cushion any shifting cargo that bumps into the sidewalls.

Contact cement or the upholstery spray that withstand high temps do work with it. Landau foam, the stuff they put on top of car exteriors to create those soft top roofs, is an EVA foam product. But it does not have a tough enough surface on its own without applying a headliner material over it. Landau foam in a 3/8" thickness is what I have put onto my ceiling for insulation. It has the special fuzzy backed marine vinyl over it. Not all marine vinyl can be applied with contact type cements. You will likely have to special order the right type as you can't obtain it off the rack at local fabric stores.
