Experience with Quick Change Trailer Jack?

Anyone have experience using a Quick Change Trailer Jack or similar product? Quick Change™ Trailer Jack | Bass Pro Shops

Thought one may be handy to have along with our Scamp 13, assuming they function well

No, I have not tried it.

I wouldn't use it with a Scamp, in part because:
  • A Scamp has a "rubber torsion" type axle/ suspension, such as a Torflex; it is unlikely that the axle/suspension manufacturer would endorse this method.
  • This type of device lifts a very small amount, which works when lifting on an axle beam; when lifting on a part of the frame or suspension structure it would need to lift much further, to account for suspension droop.

Information is good. Lack of information is not so good, but misinformation is much worse. Check facts, and apply common sense liberally.

Another issue is - what else can you use it for?
A hydraulic bottle jack can be used for more than just lifting the trailer.
Kinda like a garlic press. Not much use for any other purpose.

They are very light and take up little room, I had one for awhile, it seemed to have prevented me from having flats, which most of my purchases end up doing. I buy a snow blower so that it doesn't snow, a leaf blower and my tree falls over. See my logic here!!

As mentioned above, it looks to me like it would only work on a sprung axle.

On Scamps and many others the axle beam is attached to the frame and the wheel would drop down when the beam is lifted, staying on the groound.

Bottom line: I don't think it will work on a Scamp or other torsion axle trailers.

A better bet is a AAA card with RV endorsement.
