I'm always hooked up. Sometimes the sites are really big, but the electrical box is not at the back. I'd like to be able to (usually) be at the very back of the site... further away from the road! I'm not looking to break the bank, it's not something that would be used all the time... just when needed.

What are your thoughts on this: Heavy Duty 30-amp 10/3 STW Cord, 25’

That's a pretty good price if you don't have to pay shipping. I can't even find a regular 10/3 extension cord for that price from the home improvement stores.

I'm fortunate, there's a Camping World about 4 miles from my house. Or maybe, not so fortunate... kinda hard on the pocketbook I just wished they'd stop with the "Internet Only" pricing. Problem for me is to get it cheaper or get it faster.... decisions, decisions.

Guess I'll go shopping later today

It seems like a good price to me too.
I don't think they are any cheaper at WalMart even.

That is the right kind to get, Donna. They also have them at Walmart, don't know the current price or how the actual quality compares. I have been using one of these for five years with very good results. The extra 25' will have some resistance factor, but your Scamp won't have all the appliances of behemoth RV's.

I have seen many people try to use the skinny little extension cords used for power tools. They can really heat up running several items in an RV. That is a good price you found on the 30-amp cord. It will do exactly what you have in mind, too.

Thanks Brian, Ed and David Thanks exactly what I wanted to know. I hate wasting money, it's too hard to come by!

Donna,
Ask if they will do like Cabela's and ship it to your store free.

I can certainly ask Bill, good idea. The most they can say is "no," and without asking they've already said that!

Bought mine at Walmart. Noticed them several times at various Walmarts. It stays coiled up underneath the standard cord on my Casita. Don't remember what I paid but suspect it wa about what you are seeing. I've used it now and then and sure have been glad to have had it.

Donna, that's a great price. With my even shorter trailer I purchased mine quite a few years ago along with sewer hose extension. I too keep mine rolled up under the main electric cord. Of course I have a regular locking electric door rather than that round port that Scamp puts on, so I can reach inside.

Excellent choice Donna !!! I too have used one for years. (was invited to stay in a marina parking area a few nights; ran the extra cord down to the dock power supply and drifted off to sleep. Yeeesssssss. In the morning we shared tales of FbrGlass boats and FbrGlass Eggs. Nice folks. I need to send them a card.) PS: no skeeders.
