I finally ordered a Fantastic Fan and am looking forward to getting it installed (it's already starting to get hot and steamy here in Florida.)

My question is, once I remove the galvanized factory passive vent, what is the best sealant to use when putting in the Fantastic Fan's luran base. Butyl, polyurethane, marine silicone?

I have heard many opinions but I thought it would be best if I asked the experts here.

Any other hints and tricks I should be aware of before I tackle this task?

Regards to all,

after a thorough cleaning I used a butyl tape, it seems to be holding up extremely well.
