Fiamma Awning not closing

Hi! We are new to this forum having just purchased a 2003 Casita SD 16' We love it! And, so far, everything works perfectly on this well-cared for oldster. However, yesterday we extended the awning on a beautiful Seattle day so that we could clean it and let it air dry. Perfect! But, it would not retract completely. Fiamma website was totally useless. The Casita orientation video on Youtube was great, but did not go into troubleshooting. Any help from you all would be much appreciated. Thank you!

Not seeing the problem can really make diagnostics difficult, so here are some general ideas.
I would start by making sure that the elbow pins are seated and not sticking out and that the mechanism is centered in the case. also check that the legs are completely and properly seated.
Open the awning about 18-24" and carefully inspect all components for bends, cracks, or alignment.
Look at your awning fabric to be sure that it has no spiral wrinkles which might indicate uneven or mistracking.
If everything appears normal, then deploy your awning all the way and then retract it being sure the the ends are parallel to the case all the way in.
You can keep the legs deployed evenly until the awning is retracted to about 2-3 feet where it can support itself.
I don't have a fiamma on my trailer and have only worked on a few of them so I hope my comment is accurate enough to help.

That Fiamma awning needs to be centered pretty closely or it won't roll up correctly. With the awning more or less fully open (at least half way) you can gently/carefully slide the tube-on-the-rolled-out-end forward and aft. There should be the same distance from the fabric edge on each end, fore and aft. Sorry I can't post a pic. I'll see if I can find a YouTube video that explains it.

Make certain the legs are flat in the case and both of the hinged ends are fully pushed into position. I have the same awning on my Scamp and occasionally need to release the center plastic holder (how's that for language) in order for the legs to get into the proper position for the case to close and lock.

Thanks, again. Your advice worked!! We opened it all the way, checked all the legs, arms, roller, etc., and rolled it back in! Yay! We just need to remember it is a little finicky. :-)
