Okay so I don't really have the foggiest notion what they are called !!! My 1985 Uhaul, and I suspect Burros, use what appears to be a 1/4 by 1/4 inch by maybe 1/16 inch thick flat solid gelatin like material when screws are run through the interior walls to attach items. This "device" acts kinda like a lock nut. Does anyone know what they are called and more importantly where you can get them ? Thanks Lee

We have several of these in our privacy room of the UHaul VT. They appear to be wall anchors, but I don't know if they are specific to fiberglass walls. There used to be a mirror attached by screws using these, but they are just there by themselves now. It looks like you drill the hole, snap them in, then run the screw through them just like you would for a plaster or drywall construction in a house. I would check for wall anchors at a Lowe's or Home Depot.

Hi Lee,

This item is called nylon anchor nuts, & they are sold at Lowe's. They are found in a pullout drawer in the hardware section where the nuts & screws are. They are in a plastic bag(two I think come in a bag) for about a dollar. The name on the sealed bag is Hillman. I got the ones that say fits #8 screw. Bottom right of bag is p/n H#881185. There's also a smaller size (#6 screw) that may fit better. Tried the #8 for one of the cabinet doors, but it looked a little big for the fiberglass hole.

Hope this helps. Patty

Kevin and Patty Thank you, thank you. I desperately need some of these for some mods I am doing and without knowing their name or where to get them I was at a loss. Lee

Cindy I will certainly be posting pics as soon as we get back from Stub Stewart. Unfortunately I am post 18 ( way post 18 ) and posting pics is beyond my capabilities ( in hopes that someone at the Stub Stewart gathering can yank me into the 21st century and then I will post pics ). Lee
