Fiberglass Repair & Waxing?

I just scrubbed my 2001 Casita w/clorox, dawn & BarKeepers (great stuff). Now I am having several exterior roof cracks & the back overhead repaired. The new F/G will not have gelcoat, may just be painted a macthing (Ha!) white. Can I still put 4-5 coats of Zep on these new spots?
I also noticed a beige/brown/sand colored spot showing thru at the roof forward of the door - is this possibly where the factory did not have enough gelcoat & color? Does not look like a repair, might need to paint it also.

Humm good questions. I do know you don't wax fresh paint. It needs to thoroughly outgas. Give it a month before putting anything over it.

I remember folks putting ZEP on rear bumpers, etc. and those were painted....

My experience with applying Red Max Pro over soft-masked spot touch up with rattlecan paint is that the flowed surface quality of the wax and its considerable reflectivity obscures the debarkation between gelcoat and paint. Allow time for the paint to bleed solvents and cure. With rattlecan paint, might only be a day or two wait. Off the shelf paint match with whites is a matter of luck. I have had the best results making "cold" whites (gray or blue cast) disappear under floor wax. Please remember that it is possible to spend a great deal of time, money and effort presenting the human eye with the luxury of examining a uniform and homogenous surface. Very often cheap and cheerful looks just as good from the back of a galloping mule.

And per Ms Donna - not one ounce of silicone has been used - ooped for the RM4200 @ $18 a tube.

If you must spray paint it use some automotive white touch up spray from the auto parts store. they have several shades of white since every automakers used several shades of white. If you cant get close enough get 2 cans one slightly lighter and one slightly darker. Spray a coat of slightly lighter first then spray a fog coat of slightly darker just to tint it up a little but not really cover. Alternating the fog between the lighter and darker should get you close. if you dont like the results wash it off with some acetone while fresh and try again. Remember when you zep wax it, it will gloss and shade it a littler darker with a wet look.
