Furnace help needed!

Here we are in the 5th. month of camping in our Uhaul and everything is going OK except the igniter in our furnace keeps getting sooted up so it won't light off.

I have dissasembled the unit and fouind dirt daubers in the infeed plentum. These I cleaned out and as a result the heater runs for almost a week before the problem occurs again. This is a vast inprovement from previously but I am tired of gettiong out of bed in the middle of the night to clean the igniter.

Surely someone has an answer to this delemma.

To me it sounds like your fuel to air mixture is not correct.
Check the intake and exhaust ports for obstructions.
Also check the burner where the air goes in for spider webs.
Take a small flat blade screwdriver or Q tip and make sure there are no webs.

Send a message via Yahoo to Darwin Maring
Adjust the flame to give you the bluest flame because A Yellow flame gives you more suit than a blue flame.

As for the mud daubers problem, have you added a flying insect screen for the furnace ports?

I'm no help here.....my uhauls furnace worked when we didnt need it only and now wont light...I'll delve into it in the spring when fixing a few other things. Was really good at warming up the uhaul though when we first got it....wish it worked

I'm thinking of pulling it out and taking it to a heating and ac joint, let them do it.
