Just read a post on RORVT from a fellow whose wife is in hospital/nursing home and spends two weeks per month camped in parking lot using genset occasionally for electric heat.

His CO monitor/alarm went off and he discovered he had been overlooking wind direction when he fired the genset up; CO from exhaust was blowing under his (stickbuilt) trailer and coming in various places, including windows.

It occurs to me that this is also a danger with a conventional RV furnace because it vents exhaust right there outside the trailer for the wind to move around.

CO monitor is a good thing...

I never experienced a problem with venting. These furnices burn very efficiently to say the least. Never even get a wiff of propane either when they first start up. And the furnices in the Casita are very small compared to the larger ones in big RV's. Propane useage is minimal. I do have a propane alarm & a fire alarm but maybe it would be a good idea to get a CO alarm too. What about fumes from your galley stove & your hot water heater & lets not forget your refridge either??? HUH? MANZI
