Gray tank plugged up

I have a 2013 25B25FB and my gray water tank won't drain properly. I put a bunch of tank cleaner in and it helped but didn't solve the problem completely. Anybody know anything about the inside of the gray water tank?

Sounds like the vent tube has a blockage or maybe the drain tube is kinked. Both situations can cause it to drain very slowly.


Air has to be able to enter to displace the volume of water that is exiting. So a compromised vent tube can significantly slow down the speed at which water exits the tank.


I don't know how the tank on your trailer is vented. But on my Sunrader I had a blockage in my tank because the vent pipe that went up to the roof fitting had slid downwards and was then beneath the level of the surface of the liquid. Which of course meant that there was no longer an effective vent as no air could enter the tank. Things like that can make it difficult to figure out the cause of the issue.

Have you tried giving it a good back flush, several times??
What have you or someone been putting down the drains, I am not referring to the cleaner here. Food scraps or whatever???

If your vent isn't blocking air entry to the tank and the tank drain pipe isn't crimped, you could have the cutout remnants (construction debris) down in the tank blocking the exit. If so, you may be able to fish it out at the dump valve end once the tank is finally empty. You could push your garden hose up in there and give it a good rinsing, too. You may be surprzsesd at what all comes out besides clear water. I helped a buddy clear a solidified grease plug from his grey tank ... and his DW swore she never dumped any cooking grease down the drain!

Before leaving last location and heading home I went to Dollar Store and bought a small bottle of liquid dish soap. Poured it down both the shower and sink then drove 6 hours home. Seemed to drain OK this morning so think I got it.
