Heat strip failure in Coleman's Mach A/C unit

Can the heat strip be fixed or replaced in my A/C? Is it costly?

Thx, Sharon

PS - Scamp 2011 16 footer. Unit came with A/C and heat strip worked great until today.

The heat strip assembly is about $70 at Camping World, plus labor to install if you do not do it yourself. I do not want to ruffle any feathers here, but a ceramic heater at Home Depot is @40 and no cost to install. But you have to store it even though it is small.

Does the heat strip need replacement ? It could be the strip or something else. Other issues that would result in no heat could be a faulty switch or a wire that became disconnected.

Many times manufacturers use stakon slide on style terminals to make the connections to the high limit and the heating element .The metal in the stakons looses it temper from the heat and leads to arcing at the termination and a poor connection . You can purchase new stakon terminals designed for this application for a lot less than the cost of a new heating element . I have repaired hundreds of bad heater terminals in fan forced heaters over the years , it's a simple repair

If it is worth owning ,its worth maintaining.
After determining that the heat strip is actually broken beyond repair, it can be replaced with simple hand tools. It appears to be nearly plug and play.
Here is a site which has the unit for under $53 and there is a PDF installation instruction at the bottom of the page...

Coleman Mach Electric Heat Kit/Strip 9233A4551

You may check locally for an even better price.
