Hi Dirk,

So you've got a Liberty like is pictured on the home page? Wow, rare bird! I think we were all fooled by your use of "van" in the original subject of your post, and thought you had some kind of conversion van. Anyway, welcome to the forum

I can't speak specifically to your Liberty, but most of these trailers used parts that were available through RV supply companies (you can Google and then look through online catalogs). So unless there's something unusual (and there sometimes is!), you could get a water tank, for example, from any number of RV suppliers. Marine suppliers can be another source. Also, manufacturers such as Scamp (www.scamptrailers.com) have a parts department with some parts that are applicable to other trailers. www.vintagetrailersupply.com also has some useful parts, and there are links over to the left in the "helpful links" section.

If you can show us photos of what you have and are asking about, we may be able to get more specific in our suggestions. Besides, we want to see your trailer! Looks like a lot of nice wood inside :

Hi: Dirk...You seem to have hit upon the more rare "Square" type of Molded Fiberglass trailers. Several different makers were involved in the mfg. of them including I think Amerigo, Boler 1650, Companion, Dolphin, Unik, and Trillium Jubilee. Most of these consisted of "Off the shelf" components.
There is a company making a variety of water tanks/sizes called Polyrama Plastics located in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Sorry I don't have the link anymore but it may still be in the Resources Helpful-Links on the left side of the pages.
I know one person Paul Neumeister of Seberingville Ont. Canada owner of A-1 Auto Refinishing 519-393-6410 who rebuilt a Boler 1650 from the ground up. He also sells/makes parts for Fiberglass trailers. I believe he is a member here and certainly wouldn't mind discussing parts for these "Rare Square" trailers. Give him a call!!!
You have a really nice unit and will have fun sourcing parts and rebuilding it.

Hi Dirk,
Is the tank missing, or just damaged? Plastic welding is available now and that could be a simpler solution than finding a replacement or trying to get a custom tank made.

Hi: Dirk... I just checked the listings Helpful-Links and polyrama is listed under Water Tanks Bolers. You will need to know the dimensions of the space and how it was fastened in under the floor. Don't ya just love a MYSTERY???

It looks like you have got more pictures of it than I do. I have already tore into the floor.... found out it is plywood setting on top of fiberglass outer shell. All of the solid oak cabinet doors needed to be reglued, the ceiling does have mold on it. But it is going to be nice when finished. Right now the pictures you have look really good inside. the exterior is in excellent shape. The interior needs lots of TLC. Which it will get. We bought it sunday afternoon. Thanks for the looks.

Fiberglass renew

What do you use to make the fiberglas shell on the older fiberglass shells come alive and shine?

Dirk,

Your Columbus Coach looks allot like an Amerigo. Do you know if they are related?

Liberty by Columbus Coach

I do not know. I do know that it is real hard to find parts for like a grey water tank. Although just like other threads other things are pretty generic

Gotta tell ya, that Liberty is a dead ringer for the Amerigo FG-16 built from 1971 to about 1975.
