We had Fan Tastic Fan 6600 installed in our 1981 13' BolerTrailer. The installer could not fit the plastic surround inside the trailer....Has anyone else had this problem and how did you solve it...Thanks for any info you can provide....Pat.

I built a wood frame on the inside, then installed plastic surround inside trailer.

I figured we would have to build a wood frame but why did you still need the plastic surround? Did you cut down the original plastic provided with the unit?....I am clueless about these kinds of things.

The wood frame was basically just a spacer. Yes i then cut down the plastic surround to size i needed.

I cut down the plastic frame then built a wood edge for it to sort of match the rear hatch frame. Could have avoided it by getting the higher profile fan (more outside and less inside for thin-roofed RVs).
