Three reasons for the axle upgrade: 1) this trailer is 28 years old; 2) I'd like to have
brakes; and 3) I want bigger wheels and
tires on it, 'cuz I like the look. True, none of these reasons absolutely requires the change, but I'm considering my options.
About the frame, it looks in decent shape, but there's so much rust on it that I can't be sure. And the two points in front where the shell meets the frame are cracked, either by compression or bouncing or something. Separating the shell from the frame will allow me to investigate and correct the damage, and hopefully prevent future pain. Sandblasting and
painting the frame are a lot easier with the shell out of the way.
Most of the work I do is restoration and
renovation of older (vintage) trailers. That means trying to make everything look all clean and nice again, as best my abilities and budget are able.
Do you have any information to share about the
Perris Pacer, Bruce? I'd appreciate it.
