How do you lock the inside of new door handle?

I've just installed my door, trim and new door handle. I ordered the interior and exterior parts of the door handle from scamp. I just locked the outside to test the key and noticed that there is not a way to lock the inside. I just checked on scamps parts web site and did see anything there. Did I miss something?

I just check for a hole, and didn't see one. I played around with the lock and realized that you must lock it from the outside first and then go in. The inner handle will move the striker, while the exterior is locked in place. I guess this will work fine, as we can alway get out in an emergency.

My 13 foot Scamp that is about 5 years old has a pin hanging on a chain. This pin is inserted into a small hole that goes through the inside lock and prevents the latch from being pushed down from the outside.

I have a 2009 16' Scamp and it has the hole also.

BUT I just went to the Scamp parts page and the picture of the inside handle does NOT show a hole for the pin. ?????

I suppose you could drill a hole and get a pin for it as it works very well.

Bill - Can you post a picture of the locking pin by itself? I need to find something similar for our '96 Scamp that has no inside locking pin.

Thanks for the information. I got a pin at Low's and just drilled the hole. Fits nice and I think a better way to lock the door. The pin I bought is a 1/4" diameter with a 1" key ring on the end. I put a chain on it, but attached the end to the side cabinet instead of the door. I thought there would be less clanking when coming in and out.
