How is this possible?
I have disconnected the battery from the 13ft. Scamp. I am not plugged into shore power. The 12v lights still turn on. The 12v outlet is working.
Where is the power coming from?

I don't know, but I want to be partners with you and earn half off this miracle energy source!!!!!
Is the tow vehicle still connected? It might be drawing off your vehicle battery.

The electric brakes have a small battery.

Well, durn. I thought I saw a window to an early retirement here.
But, glad you figured it out!

It must be magic...
Are you sure that you don't have another battery or back-up reserve power supply hidden away somewhere on board?
Without a source of power, there is no power. There must be another source hooked up in there somewhere. The lights wouldn't come on without power from somewhere.

You may be laughing, but check this out...
My ham radio mentor grew up in WWII era Poland (long before LED lights)and lived close to a strong radio broadcast antenna. He told us how the energy from the antenna was so strong that they never had to turn on the lights... the fluorescent lights glowed without even being connected.
And he showed us how it worked using a ham radio.

Break away battery. They are posting in the reply "Title" area. I miss reading that area often myself.

Thanks.. the two statements did not have to be related I think..
... anyway, a diode can fix that problem. What problem do you ask? Sounds like the Scamp's electrical system can discharge the break-away switch battery, rendering it useless when it is most needed.

Well I was thinking more like when you are going 70 MPH downhill (bad idea, I know) and the trailer becomes unhitched and crosses the centerline, heading straight toward a church bus full of children and nuns headed the opposite direction, also at 70 MPH.
The inspection, I think, we could survive.

Gordon, Here in Virginia the buss would be Blue and it would be Baptist. I don't think the Catholics use school busses.

I got a similar situation this spring.
The trailer was parked in the yard, no external electrical connection and a parking light was on the trailer.
In the connector that goes to the car, I found a wire out of his position, and touched the battery wire from the trailer.
