How to repair a white vinyl zipper cover for awning

The outside white vinyl zipper cover for my 9ft awning is staring to peel and flake and see thru on my trillium 4500. The awning is in great shape but the cover is corroding . Just need some creative thoughts on how to repair this without buying a whole new awning .
Should I buy a white tarp and glue it on top of existing cover ?

We have a similar awning and I (absent mindedly) left the awning attached to the trailer over the winter 2 years ago. Usually I remove the whole awning (in a bag). I have found on reattaching the bag awning and opening the awning that the bag fabric has become VERY brittle and has broken down at both ends. It doesn't look really nasty YET, but I'd sure like to find a 'fix' for this sick bag, LOL!!!

Yep the bag has winter blisters . Have to find how to heal the bag . Learn something new every day.
Didn't know winter effected the vinyl cover , thought it was just old age .
I might take it off and make a whole new cover and zipper some how .

I found someone that sells them pretty cheap an hour and half away from me .
what luck . Maybe I will just buy one . Save all that sewing etc .
