No it was in Summerland. Acted fast and picked it up for $1000. Price reflects the work needed. If you're ever around the Loops, let me know.

You a now hurting me big time. We spent several nights with Liz & Klaus Haverkamp (the VW guy) in Summerland on our way back from Kelowna. Judy has known them for 20+ years. Our trip to Summerland was postponed by almost a month due to the fires in Chelan (where Judy lives)

Bob those weren't the owners of our Bigfoot. Our Bigfoot lived in Bamfield on the island, where it saw plenty of years of salt water air, which gave it a unique color on all the metal. I purchased it from the original owners. I wouldn't doubt that the previous owners knew your friend. Summerland is fairly small, but most definitely beautiful.

Klaus Haverkamp was very well known up and down the valley when he was running his VW shop. He did that for about 40+ years before retiring. The last two times we came across at at Oosoyos the Border guys both knew his name and his shop .....

We will be up that way again at Christmas.

Just posting here to come back later when I have more time! Experienced the same sort of leak in our 85 Bigfoot 17' this fall.

Keith, I think I got my leak fixed. I used the 1/2" closed cell waterproof insulation tape around the whole inside perimeter of the removable fridge access.

We had a similar issue camping on the September long weekend in Waterton Lakes NP. It was a Bangladeshi monsoon for the first couple of nights and we had this mysterious leak coming in from under the fridge area. Once I got home and starting investigating (and after drying out and several hot showers), I was looking at the fridge vent covers as well.

I ended up re-sealing the upper with putty tape, and around the belly band area where it had shrunk away from the cover. I didn't know (or think about) the foam tape, but that may be next years project. I added some extra screws too as I wasn't getting good bite on several.

I did a minor re-seal on the lower removable cover, but honestly wasn't imagining how the water was getting in there, so your photos are very helpful Michael.

Any improvement will have to wait until next year, as we have tucked the Bigfoot away back into indoor storage for the winter. Hoping next summer I don't have to camp in a monsoon again, but we shall see....

Cheers!
