If money no biggy, which FG trailer would you buy?

This is all personal preference of course (and I travel alone).

5th wheel: new Escape 19.5 footer

21/22 footer: Oliver (seems to be ultimate in quality)

17/19 footer: Bigfoot 17 (this would negate wanting a 19 footer because of its wide body)

16 footer: Scamp (most floor plans to choose from)

15 or so footer: Parkliner

13 footer: (not for me, just a bit too small)

Out of all of the above, my first choice would be an Escape 5th wheel. However, I have a bum leg that's not getting any less "bum" as I age (making stairs unappealing), so I would settle for a lovely 17' Bigfoot.

If no money is involved I would get 3:

1) a 19' Escape for traveling with my family (done)
2) a new Escape 5 Tandem for luxurious trips with my wife.
3) an Escape 15B for traveling alone.

Bet you can't guess which brand I prefer?

LOL. I'm not much of a brand loyalty person. Never had the same brand car over my lifetime. But sure, brand loyalty is definitely a part of personal preference for some, as is country-of-build loyalty. Those all work for me.

My wife and I would agree with Sharon's top 3. The larger trailers hold appeal for us and my wife seems to like the idea of the bed over the hitch on the 5th wheel. Of course, in our life, cost IS a limiting factor!

Our ideal setup: 5th wheel Escape towed by a VW Amarok (not yet available in the U.S. or Canada).

WTG Clayton. I should have mentioned I'll be full-timing in my rig when my house sells (yippee got an offer on it a week ago), so any 13 footer would be a bad fit for me. If I was "just" out to camp and have a blast (and single as I am now), I doubt I would want anything larger than a 13'.

Addendum -- were it not for observing Norm and Ginny in their 16' Scamp, I doubt I would have gone that small as a full-timer-to-be. If those two can hack it in 16' for 2/3 or more of a year, I figured as a soloist I could make it work for me. Let's hope so, eh?

I would get three as well! LOL
1) An Escape 17' for on my own
2) An Escape 19' for when traveling with two for short trips of a month or less.
3) A Bigfoot 21" for the long haul trips with two and and I plan to park on the beach in Mexico for a few months.

Then again I have seen an Oliver but never actually got to sit in it when I stumbled on it in Tofino a few years back.... might want one of those as well :-))

There was a thread here or their forum about the escape warranty terms do not cover fulltiming.

I can't find warranty info on the Escape site. I'll have a look in my manual. But, I wonder how they would define, determine and monitor "full time".

Just read the warranty. Nothing about full-timing mentioned.

Per this market at least, money IS no biggy for me- I can pay cash for any fiberglass trailer I want. And I did.

It's a 1978 Trillium 4500, and in every way perfect for my purposes .

It does not matter whether or not your assumption regarding fulltiming and its effect on the warranty was correct. In this thread, money is no object, so whatever happens, you will be able to enable repairs without any worries about cost.

Regarding the Escape warranty, as far as I can tell mine does not mention full-timing, and by the time I am in a position to full-time, my warranty will be long expired (hopefully I won't be in the same state).

Money no object but not working probably self rebuilt 16 laid out my way. the retirement machine.
I like small low stress trailers.

We saw Carl Keighley's Lil Snoozy at Arkansas rally.
This is the the trailer we would buy.
Like the layout and the looks of the trailer.
For now we are satisfied with our Campster and the ease of camping with it.

Rick, if the propane aftermarket stuff is really as easy to have installed as described, I think I might go that route in lieu of a 16' Scamp. I hope to soon be at a rally where I can eyeball a Lil Snoozy, cuz I sure do love the back entrance.

I would lean toward an Escape. Not sure which one I'd choose between the 17 and larger (I haven't seen a 21, but the 19 and the 5.0 were nice).
