Silly Scamp Questiom

Silly Scamp Question!

I have borrowed a photo from Kim's great tread because i'm too lazy to go take a photo of my 13" Scamp's door opening. Besides, that's a great looking Dog!!

Is the aluminum plate the dog is standing on supposed to be fixed in place, and not moveable?

Thanks,

Bill

Yes I believe the threshold should be fixed, if you have a "floating" laminate floor leave room for expansion on the other side.

Yes, I agree with John, it should, and mine is fixed in place. The instructions for tha floating floor that I installed called for a bead of the most hated material on this site (silicone) at the interface with thresholds.

Thanks John & Dennis,

I thought that may be the case...but, then again...I wasn't going to take a chance!

I'm just now getting ready to remove the two aluminum strips so I can replace the flooring at that point. It looks like the two strips fit on the top and bottom of the wood floor. My strips are so loose, it's hard to tell what goes where!

Wow, what a great looking dog!

Just to let you know, the metal piece on my Scamp is not original. It is just some aluminum we got at Home Depot.
