Import fees in Canada?

A friend of mine is looking to purchase his FG in the USA, and we're wondering if anyone knows what are the import fees to bring said FG into Canada. Anyone been through this experience, or knows where to point me to find this information out?

Thanks.
(Sorry if wrong forum, please move it where appropriate if need be.)

No bigie, drive up to border, pay normal tax, no duty if US made. Pay fee for inspection, go to Canadian Tire, they check serial # and compliance sticker and maybe see if brakes lights work.

Go camping

It has been a few years since we brought ours over. At the time the provincial taxes and GST were collected separately in Ontario. We paid the GST at the border and provincial portion when we registered the trailer. I'm not sure how it works now that the two taxes are harmonized as the HST now. An enquiry to your local registration office should give you the answer.

If the trailer is less than 15 years old you have to deal with the RIV.

Sort of, but not really. When you tell the border people you're importing the trailer you go inside and pay the taxes. You also pay the RIV fee and they give you the paperwork to take to Canadian Tire for the inspection. But there aren't any extra steps or officials or other offices to deal with.
