Trailer: 13 ft Trillium
Posts: 6
Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum and having just purchased a 13' Trillium, I have the first of what may be a number of questions. So I hope one of you knowledgeable sounding people out there can help me out. The seam tape or whatever it is - hard plastic stuff/seam sealer/connector - that holds the foamy interior type material inside the trailer is crinkled then straight at the ends....the ends though don't meet the end of the seam because it looks like the crinkle part has shortened the length of it. Just wondering, is it suppose to be shorter at the end of the seam or has the seam sealer/connector shrunk/dried up over time causing it to crinkle and now it needs to be replaced? The crinkle is kind of attractive and looks like it should look like that. But it seems to me that you shouldn't be able to see any seams either. Thanks so much for your help. Jen

Hi Jen...I think the "T" seam-sealer goes like that in all of our Trills', I replaced mine got a roll of the stuff from a bus/RV conversion place in Kingston. I also read you can remove(it just pops out) and immerse the stuff in very hot water and it will return to original shape. My guess is that the top of the strip expands more than the "stem" of the Tee strip and therefore buckles when the interior gets really hot.
Cheers...Alistair

I seem to remember talking to someone that tried the hot water trick but in awhile the seam "T" molding soon puckered up again. I think when the plastic gets old and tired it is probably best to replace it. If the locking strip in the joints is still good you can get the orginal molding from here. I think the Trillium uses the same "T" molding. I think I may buy a roll myself as I have a couple of friends who have Bolers.

SEAM TAPE (Boler)
I ran across this on another site. Might be worth following up.

* Seam tape for sale:
The roll contains 150' and will do 4 trailers. It?s exactly like the original. Cost is $55 includes taxes and shipping and you can sell the remainder of the roll to other Bolerites.

Trailer: 1974 Trillium

Hello: My husband and I recently purchased a 1974 13 foot Trillium and all the seam tape is missing from the inside. My husband is thinking of some kind of selant and then to paint the interior. Would it be better to try and contact a Trillium dealer to get replacement tape or is there a special compound we can use that will adhere to fiberglass before painting. The trailer also needs all new cushions. We priced out foam and it is approximately $800 WOW, there must be a cheaper way. The foam is still good, perhaps it can be cleaned and then reupholstered. Any ideas. Thanks Patricia C

The Trillium seam cover is t-moulding, there is one person on this site who has found it, use the search function, I'm sure you'll come across it.
If the foam isn't damaged, clean it in your bath-tub with lots of soapy water and let it dry.
Much cheaper than buying new.

I've done the take it off and soak it in very hot water then put it back in, I have used a ball pean(sp??) hammer to tap it back into place gently, it works quite well and mostly covers up the whole seam. Haven't done all yet but what I have has been simple, though a little time consuming and often kind of upside down, depending on the seam. Paddy

Jen, another solution...a lad at the Fiberglass with Class meet in PEI showed me his "new" interior. He used paintable latex caulking and smoothed it level, then used a vynil paint from a sign painting business to roll on a fresh interior. Looked great. Contact Karl Proude at<fiddlerscorner@eastlink.ca> forBilly's address and contact info.

Nice job, even though I was not personally fond of the colour Billy chose. I remember he said it was "one shot" sign paint. This might be a link
