Is there a OEM wiring harness available to plug into the Astro with 4 wire leads to connect to my brake controller? Or do I have to wire everything in from scratch. The Astro is prewired at the back with 8 wires(1 for the overhead stop lamp) so I am hoping that the brake controller will be simple to install as well. My question is , how do most Astro owners tie end the four wires from the controller to the Astro wiring under the dash?
Thanks,
Gary Little

what year is the astro?

got to tekonsha and see if they list a cable as an accessory. That should guide you in the right direction.

Hello Gary;

The Astro comes standard with a 6 wire bundle, but if you have the 8 wire bundle (like in my own Astro) in your Astro, it just means that you have the optional GM trailer package. The 6 or 8 wire bundle is all you need to properly hook up a brake controller on your vehicle.

I've got a Tekonsha Prodigy controller in my Astro, and it's the best controller money can buy. I'm very satisfied with it.

Yves.

The Astro is a 2000. And Yes, I have the 8 wire bundle in the rear. But, how did you tie in the wires from your controller under your dash area? The wht,blk,blu and red. My controller is a Tekonsha Voyager. I have been using it on a 04 Highlander but I had to run a #12 blue to the rear(with a #10 blk & wht for the charge circuit). I took the red wire from the controller and piggy backed on to the wire that was hot when the brake pedal was pressed. I brought a blk and wht from under the hood that came from a relay when the key was turned on. I was hoping that I could purchase a harness to plug into the Astro under the dash that would keep me from having to do all of this again (wiring under the dash).
Thanks,
Gary Little
