I am thinking of getting a propane lamp to replqce the old unworking Coleman. My question is, where would I find someone qualified to install it? It isn't something I want to do myself. But installing propane lamps isn't an every day profession these days!
I would think that anyone who works on furnaces would be able to do it no problem. Heating/AC guy. Or an RV place like Camping World, or next to were they sell/service RV's.
Oh, good idea, I had not thought of furnaces and propane stoves are also common here. I was skeptical about an RV place since propane lamps are not that common anymore.
If it were me, I would just purchase a good LED type of Coldman lamp and forgo the propane. I just don't trust the propane,the extreme heat, suit and other things it gives off not to mention a source for propane leakage.
L.P. Lights are not installed anymore in Canada, I don't think you could get your unit Gas Certified if you have them install ,that goes for catalytic heater as well . They both burn inside air which can be unsafe
I am not worried about ventilation with a pop top. And I can see a heater which you run all night being a problem but not a light for the length of time it is on. And the connection is already there are far as leaks are concerned. Though I guess I could cap it off.
I didn't realize you had canvas around the top , that would give you ventilation . Much like a tent trailer which can use the catalytic heaters with no problems.
