>>I was talking about Don implying we have trouble because we are not men. Did I read that wrong? ....Jana
Sorry it read that way. :o
My appologies to those who have trouble with the canopy, but I've even put it up to provide temporary shade while working on the car or trailer.
In my book it's a good product :) for our use, no appology there!

Y'all just keep on talkin'..
I really appreciate all this because that is the next thing I'm going to get. Morgan, I think I saw yours just the other day and have really thought hard about it. I was glad to see the picture of it. They look nice. They also have a 9 x 12 that I'm really interested in. We don't have an awning and I would like one to go next to the trailer so my 70lb puppy would have a little more wiggle room.

Ours is 12x14, Suz. That's 12' side to side and 14' corner to corner. We got it primarily to get away from bugs when we're in bug country. We found it useful in the rain and for attenuating the wind. We paid US$65 for it on sale. It has shock corded roof poles.
As you see in the picture, we have an awning on our Casita, but it's area of protection is quite limited.

I didn't talke you serously,Don, except the 9.5 works and the 10 has trouble. (note to self, can't raz about certain things, got it)

Now I understand how they measure them. I'm definitely going back there again (Humm, now let me see, will that be the 10th or 12th time?:chin).
Two more questions (and forgive the redundancy if I missed them in your posts): 1) does it have a floor in it? 2) approximately how difficult would it be for one person to put it up/take down/time?
It doesn't appear to have flaps on it to cover the screen, which is okay as I could add them if I found they were desireable.
Thanks.

It does not have floor or privacy flaps. It was easy for Lee and me to set up and I think I could set it up alone, but it's not a pop-up.

Roll down flaps
Suz
We find the roll down flaps a necessity. Not only do they keep the rain off but also the sun and are great when a bit of privacy is needed. The 2 awnings can be used on any side. We often have 6 people, 2 adults and 4 teens...we're outnumbered...and this screen room is a godsend especially in the rain as 6 do not fit under the trailer awning. It measures 12' x 13' and I can set it up alone. (see the picture back about 9 posts)
Like you I had considered making flaps for our other super easy to set up dome screen room but it would've cost close to what is was to buy the new one.

Screened Room
Thanks, Nancy. :wave I really appreciate the input. Seeing that flap extended like that makes me see even more possiblities.
I'm getting some great ideas here. Anybody else?:wiggly

Flaps
I'm with Nancy D. on the flaps, Suz. If I'm gonna have a screen room, it's gotta have flaps. The one I saw set up this summer in Colorado looked great. In the evening, they closed all the flaps and had their lantern inside. I'm sure it was warm and toasty - they stayed up late enough laughing and such, so it must've been.
I just wish I could find a picture of it on the internet...
Of course, the thing I did NOT like about it was, I'm sure it was heavy (it was big)... and possibly hard to set up (had lots of poles).
So, like you, Suz, I appreciate hearing everyone's experiences with the different screen-sun-shade-rain rooms... also awnings, tarps, and etc.!

Size and flaps
If I can find one I like with the flaps, I will definitely do that. If not, I will have to retrofit it and I really don't want to do that.
I hope to purchase one locally so that I can bring it home and see how hard it is to set up. I'll do a dry run at home (not wait til camping) so if I can't do it then I can return it. I may end up with two: a small one for short trips and a larger one for extended trips. Now that sounds like a plan to me!
I can see it now: <img src=http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/uploads/3dd92910592b6car.gif/> Move over diesel pushers, Suz needs your site cause all the stuff she's carring in, on, and around her 16 footer!:lol
That'd make me a cool avatar, don't you think? Yep, definitely time for a change!

awning
For the record:
... the 9-1/2' ez-up is measured at the base, not the canopy.
The canopy is only about 7-1/2' along each side.
(I'd set it up and take a measurement but it's too much trouble).
OK, jana, I'm withya, now. :wave
Hey, you can bungee a 6 x 8 blue tarp on the sunny side.

Side flap, 6 x 8 just fits.
<img src=http://www.fiberglassrv.com/board/uploads/3dd94a7c0927fCasita ez-up side flap.jpg/>
Side flap (this one's silver) from wallymart $6 with 4 little bungees. The yellow 'wind ropes and screw in anchors are extra.
How's the song go....."don't tell me, I've nothin to do...countin flowers on the wall...."

Now if you could just figure out how to attach that awning to the trailer...
Sure is perdy down at your neck of the woods, Don. :wave North wind just hit, so it's coming your way.
