We don't have the auto igniter in our 2002 trailer for our water heater. We are wondering if we should have Camping World install it. What have you done?

Good question Carol.

I have heard several people complain about CW willingness to stand behind their work after the work was done. I have NOT had a problem. Just wanted to give you a heads up. It maybe just the two other locations they each used.

BTW, We had an electric heating element added to ours so when we are plugged in, it heats automatically.

Hi Mike

Jim and I have decided to get the new water heater from CW - that's the only way they will do the install of the auto igniter. Our water heater is 6 years old so we don't feel too bad about replacing it.. We just wondered how CW did it and if people are happy with the auto igniter.

That was the one mistake we made when we ordered out trailer in 2001. So we've decided to go for it. We are waiting now for the heater to come in before they will give us the install date.

We do wonder how everyone likes the auto igniter. Without it, we can put the water heater on pilot and it stays hot all day.

Do not forget to discuss the by-pass valves on the water heater that will allow U 2 winterize your egg much easier.

Also: The electric rod that they install will heat the water while connected to electricity and the auto ignition R 2 different things. Have them explain the difference.

As far as CW, If U can’t trust them then U can’t trust anybody. If U have a problem and they do not respond in a positive manner, write a letter to the Good Sam highways magazine.

Thanks Darwin

Jim will ask questions at Camping World for sure. It will be nice to have electric running the water heater while on hookups. We have one propane tank - never ran out before - but this will make a difference.

We've never had problems with Camping World but have never had any installations done with them. This will be a test - hopefully everything will be great.
